Trophy winning Blue 1968 mustang GT fastback, Grand Rapids
Does not look too bad but has a lot of hidden rust
Owner took it another shop and they tried to free up the rusted engine by towing it. They hit a tree.
Disassembly.
Frame rust under the carpet.
Body gets media blasted.
Floor is removed to reveal frame rust.
All rust is cut away.
Always pull damaged panels back into place on a frame machine before removing the damaged panel to ensure all the surrounding parts are straightened.
Rear frame rails also need replacement.
All rusted and damaged panels are replaced.
New floor and rusted frame rails replaced.
Body ready for primer.
This client wanted the undercarriage gloss black.
Back to the original color Presidential blue.
Water had been in the engine.
After machine shop work Sean assembles the engine.
