Few cars carry the legacy and presence of a 1968 Mustang GT Fastback, and this deep blue example from Grand Rapids proves exactly why the model remains a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts. Restored to an exceptional standard and now a trophy-winning show car, this Mustang is a perfect blend of factory styling and elevated craftsmanship.
The project came to Mustang Craftsmen with a clear vision: restore the car’s original character while refining it to stand out on both the road and the show field. The body underwent extensive preparation, with laser-straight panels and panel alignment that exceeded factory specs. The deep blue finish was carefully chosen and applied with show-quality precision, bringing out every contour of the Fastback’s iconic silhouette.
Inside, the interior was restored to reflect the GT’s sporty yet refined nature. Period-correct textures, materials, and trim pieces were either refurbished or replaced, keeping the cabin authentic and visually flawless. Mechanical systems were rebuilt for smooth, reliable operation without sacrificing the raw feel that makes a late-’60s GT so engaging to drive.
The result? A standout car that not only turns heads but brings home awards. This 1968 GT recently earned top honors at a major regional car show—proof that true Mustang performance, combined with meticulous restoration, will always get noticed.
From Grand Rapids barn to award-winning beauty, this GT Fastback now proudly carries both history and hardware. At Mustang Craftsmen, we don’t just restore cars—we bring legends back to life.
