1969 Sports Roof completed Mustang restoration

Vintage Muscle, Modern Craft

This 1969 Mustang SportsRoof came to Mustang Craftsmen from Grand Rapids with a clear goal: to bring a true fastback icon back to life with craftsmanship, originality, and performance at the core. With its long, sweeping roofline and aggressive body lines, the ’69 SportsRoof is a standout design in Mustang history—and this deep blue example showcases just how striking a proper restoration can be.

We began by addressing the bodywork, carefully straightening and refining every panel to ensure perfect alignment and fitment. The car was then refinished in a rich, factory-inspired blue that accentuates the contours of the SportsRoof design. The paint finish is deep and smooth, showing off the level of detail and time invested in surface prep and application.

Inside, the interior received a full refresh, staying true to the original styling with restored gauges, trim, and upholstery. Mechanical systems were inspected and restored as needed, keeping drivability and safety in mind while retaining the character of the classic Mustang driving experience.

Though this project was not a complete rotisserie restoration, it reflects the care and attention to detail we bring to every build. From the paint booth to the final polish, this Grand Rapids SportsRoof is a great example of how we bring vintage Mustangs back with pride and precision—ensuring they look just as good on the road as they do in the garage.
